IT SUCKS TO BE SICK!
Welp it's the end of tax season and with it goes a "cushy job" that my dad
gives me every year helping him with his tax preparing business...oh well I'll
have to start looking for extra income somewhere else, like maybe
GETTING CAST IN SOMETHING! arrrrrgggghhh! It can be so frustrating
when pilot season ends and you feel like you came out on the other side with
nothing. I guess what's also bothering me is that I went to an audition last
week for "The Shield" and you know, I've got some insider info for that
show soooo when I went to audition, not only did they say to me when I was
there "oh you did GREAT" and "that was exactly what we wanted" but my
friend was able to ask the casting director how I did. They said they
"LOVED ME!" that I did an amazing job and blah,blah,blah...so my friend
was sure I would AT LEAST get a callback but NOTHING! Not a callback or
anything, and I just felt like "what did I do WRONG?" did I say something
at the last minute or just not do as well and they didn't want me to feel
bad. I don't know, I even talked to my agent and he said "oh they told me
they love you there" but I feel like if there's all this "love" going around
some of it should ACTUALLY HIT ME! I guess I just need to sing a chorus
of "Que, sera, sera" and MOVVVVVE ONNNNN. Then to make things
worse...I got really sick last week (I'm still battling it, but it's getting
better) and I also got to go to Opening Night of "Electricidad" at the MARK
TAPER FORUM. I liked it, I thought it was a beautifully done show. It was
funny because I confronted Luis Alfaro (the writer) after the show and
asked him if I should have left "hating Electricidad" (for what she does in
the show) and he told me that it was up to the audience to make up their
minds if what she did was right or wrong and I thought that was very
cool...It's great to go to a show that makes you think and talk about
possible outcomes after it's over. My friend Benito said to me "if it gets
people to still talk about it two hours after the show is over, then it's done
it's job" which is true...
