THE SHOOT FROM HELL!!   (I warn you all this one's long!)

Welp it's nearing the end of the month and my new roomie is moving in.
It's weird to have a roommate again after living alone for awhile, but I'm
kinda glad. It's nice to have someone around (not to mention a little
lighter on my "rent" pocketbook)
Sooooo I had a HORRIFIC! Time last week filming the end of my shoot for
"Phat Girlz" it was just a big mess
. It's upsetting because the director
and crew were nice but
the process associated with coming back to the
set for this movie has been painful. I was getting called once a month
from different people saying "I hope your not busy we're coming back to
the set" but it never would happen...well until this month. Then started
the calls from their wardrobe dept asking "Hey was that your jewelry you
were wearing or ours?" I called them back and said it was theirs and they
should have it as I left it in the prop room in the jewelry section to which
I was told "Yeah we don't have it...most of our stuff was taken or lost
as of the last shoot 7 MONTHS AGO" Then I'm being asked what it
looked like and I said "Didn't you guys take pictures of me in my outfit?"
and the answer I got was "Yeah...but only a close up so we don't know
what you were wearing...oh and by the way did you have a purse?" Now
I'm thinking dang I don't remember anything seeing as it was so long ago
and now I'm supposed to remember FOR THEM? It was crazy. Then
comes my Call for when I should be in Palm Springs. I was called for
Thursday last week and even though they were being all wishy washy with
whether I'd have a hotel room when I got there (they actually told me
"well if we shoot you late into the night we'll get you a room
then...meaning I'd have to wait after the shoot was over at some hotel
while they checked me in. Now you have to understand sometimes
shoots...especially theirs go on till 2-3am but they wouldn't secure me a
room...god forbid they should just shell out a little more money so I
didn't have to sleep in my car jerks!) well then at the last minute they
made it friday...no big deal BUT then I start getting called Thursday
night at 6pm the first voice mail said: "Hi, we need you in Palm Springs at
4pm on Friday" cool I can do that....then 8pm "Hi, yeah now we're pushing
the call to 5:30pm" still cool even better (more time to get ready and
rent a car, seeing as I didn't want to risk taking mine. It's an older car
and more of an "around town" car...so I can get there) then at
MIDNIGHT "Hi, OK we're pushing your call to 6:30pm see you in Palm
Springs" so this is good, I have ALOT of time...then comes the call at
9AM! "Hi, uh yeah so we need you to get in the car and come to Palm
Springs NOW" I was furious! I couldn't believe after all that I get a call
in the morning and after I told them I had to rent a car (because since
they weren't paying for it, I wasn't about to keep it any longer than I
would need it) it was just a big mess of calls back and forth between
them and my agent...I finally set out on the road at 12:30pm but only
after having to go to Simi Valley to borrow my father's car then driving
there I am literally like 5 seconds behind a 4 car pile up (bad one) on the
405 and as I pulled out my cell to call 911 I saw a motorcycle cop pull up
to the accident (he must've been right behind me because he was on the
scene 2 seconds after the accident) I decided at that point I was NOT
going to stress about getting there, life is TOO SHORT. I finally arrive
at 4:20pm, get into make-up right away and 15 minutes later am shooting
my scene which is a pick up shot and literally one line (I had done the rest
of my scenes last time I came here 7 months ago) the whole time I'm
being asked if I remember what I wore, if I had a purse, what did my
make-up look like 7 MONTHS AGO (see a theme running here?) I even
had to tell the make-up girl that she was putting the WRONG DAY'S
make-up on me (she had a picture in front of her that was obviously from
a different day
) and she wasn't paying attention until I said "uh, yeah I
think that's a different day you got there" she finally noticed that I
wasn't wearing the same clothes as in that picture and it said on the
photo it was a different day! And even though she finds the picture for
the right day she j
ust puts make-up on top of what she's already
done
...it's nothing like it looked before and now I'm scared. We
eventually finish and we break for dinner and then I'm told I am NOT
being put up for the night ANNNNND not being given a per diem because
as they put it "I'm not spending the night" so it's back on the road for
another THREE HOURS in total I spent 7 hours on the road 1hour in Palm
Springs...not too cool. Especially since I knew that there were other
people who weren't filming the next day and were being put up. Can you
believe this is actually a SAG MOVIE? It's hard for me to believe
it...this whole production has driven me crazy!.....I believe this is why
they make Valium!
