I just finished watching the Tony awards tonight. There were ALOT of
great shows that were nominated and alot of great people won. I'm a little
sad by all the influence of Hollywood though. Don't get me wrong there's
nothing wrong with a Hollywood actor doing broadway...if they're good...but
if they're not...well...it just becomes this "thing" that disrespects
Broadway because they want to make a few extra bucks. I can tell you, I
am (to quote Tom Cruise) TOTALLY IN LOVE with the musical "The 25th
annual Putnam county spelling bee". They showed one of the musical
performances from it tonight and it was just GREAT!. It makes me miss
being in a production VERY MUCH. I hope to get to do more maybe later this
year or in the next year. Theatre is such a big part of my life and I feel
like I've been away from it for soooo long it makes me a little sad. But not
to fear opportunity always has a way of popping up when least expected so
I'll keep my mourning to a minimum.
In other news, I saw a couple movies over the last couples days,
Madagascar, Kicking and screaming, and Crash. To me...all have pretty much
been forgettable. Although for Crash, while I liked the idea of what it had
to say, it had WAY to many story lines going on and you just stop feeling for
some of these people halfway THRU (partly because you can't keep up with
the stories) but I do have to say..Ryan Phillippe, Thandie Newton, Don
Cheadle, Matt Dillon and Micheal Pena were amazing to watch. They
delivered such beautifully detailed characters and truly brought depth to
them.
Welp now I'm left here...it's summer and I am here with ALOT of time on
my hands. I have no more out of town trips to do and no work right now so
I'm not sure what to do really...I've still been auditioning (had a Film
audition last week as a matter a fact) so that's good...means there still
some "life" out there. But I'm kinda in a limbo right now about what I
should be doing. This year has been so focused on Film and Tv that now that
it's slowed down for the summer I've become confused. Maybe I'll take up a
hobby...I like pottery...watch out everyone my boredom and your future
christmas presents might cross paths. I'll make you all a nice mug
