I don't think I can express ENOUGH! How busy I've been this last month. I swear, it's been crazy (good crazy). There's been alot of auditions and shootings but right now I'm shooting an episode of THE SHIELD for a week. It's a good part and I'll let you know when it aires...PROMISE! Being on The Shield has been an amazing experience. It has really made me "work" as an actor. I feel like I've been coasting by (don't get me wrong...I do work when I get jobs) but with this show, it's soooooo intense that I really have to focus ALOT...all my intentions are checked and double checked and I find myself having to stay in character alot longer than I normally would for a role. I love having this challenge. I think if you get a part that makes you question everything and you find yourself really digging into what the atmosphere is like, it makes you grow...you learn things about yourself and what you can do. I know I'm leaving this episode a better actor because of what I'm learning, but I tell you I come home and I just feel DRAINED! Like I was in a long marathon.
On Monday I leave for Philadelphia again to shoot some more of "Lady in the Water" I don't know how long I'll be there, but I might be coming home and going back one more time (it's up to them...I'll just get on the plane when they tell me!) my friend Monique (one of my fellow actors on "lady") came out here to attend her cousin's wedding so she hung out with me for a couple days. It was good seeing her and we ended up doing a little tour of Mulholland Dr. And The Getty. I have actually NEVER been to the Getty before that and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was up there. The artichteure as well is so great and it felt good to see part of the city that we as "Angelenos" take for granted (OKAY...that I take for granted!)
Okay I need to wrap this up for two reasons one...my mind is turning to gum and thinking beyond 5 minutes is proving difficult, AND I have to pick up my kitty from the groomers (don't hate him because he's beautiful!) --- Carla
