PENGUINS & MOLARS...A LOVE STORY
So I'm back from the dentist today and as the Novocaine starts to wear
off I inch closer and closer to my bottle of Vicodin. I had to have a tooth
RIPPED from my head today (I say RIPPED because it felt that violent!!)
as it had cracked and really there was no saving it. I freaked out at the
dentist (like I always do) and just tried to breathe deeply and pretend it
wasn't happening. The dentist sensing my nervousness tells me NOT to be
nervous and it will all go better (as if my being nervous is something I'm
doing on purpose to HELP HIM!) it all goes well and I am now recouping at
my apt and getting ready for next week's appointment (the fitting for the
bridge...yes people I'm officially OLD) maybe when I see you all we can
play "GUESS THE FAKE TEETH!"
Anyhoooo I also wanted to tell you also about an audition I got to go on a
couple days ago. It was for a new film called "food fight" and it's an
animation feature film. It was very cool because I had never auditioned
for anything like that before and it kinda felt like I was auditioning for a
play instead of a film (I was "allowed" to be over the top and a little
more broad with my character choices) well the part I auditioned for was
a little penguin named polar and all week I was walking around doing this
crazy ass voice that I thought would be cute. I was soooo stressed out
that maybe this wasn't what the penguin was supposed to sound like, and
having no frame of reference, I was worried I'd come off looking like a
FOOL. Well it turned out not to matter because while I was auditioning
for the penguin...it was the Motion Capture part they were interested in
(meaning when you see the cartoon penguin on screen, there was an actual
person they base if off of). The woman auditioning me was SUPER nice and
told me that while I wouldn't be talking in the movie (the penguin will
actually be voiced by Chris Kattan) I would still be doing the scenes in a
"green screen" room. I haven't heard back from them so I don't think I
got it...but all in all it was a very fun experience. oooooh meds are
wearing off ....
Stay Healthy!!
